My technocracy art

Postby Dilandu » Mon Apr 02, 2012 8:37 am

Hi all! I'm Dilandu, the brony from Moscow and a longtime fan of the art military technology.

Here I would like to present some samples of my techno-art, inspired by FoE and belonging to the days of the Great War (as well as US-Chinese War in Fallout, the Great War in Ekvestrii shown remarkably little - and yet it was a conflict that lasted for decades with significant progress in military science)!

"Tectra"-class fighter, Zebra Nation

Image

"Tectra" -class fighter was developed by zebras at the beginning of the conflict, as the ultimate (at the time) response to Equestrian air superiority. It was useless to try to beat a pegasus in maneuverability. Therefore, the basic rate has been made to achieve superiority in speed and durability.

Image

Doctrine of the new fighter was a "hit-and-run": to strike at top speed and go on afterburner from retaliation. The fighter was also to be strong enough to withstand a single hits. And he was supposed to be cheap enough for mass production.

Image

The "Tectra" fully embodied this doctrine. A powerful engine allows the fighter to accelerate to Mach 0.89, which exceeded the speed of the vast majority of Pegasus. Two 40-mm automatic gun with a magically-enhanced fragmentation rounds ("life-seeker" spell were imposed on them, to ensure the shells detonate automatically when they approaching the Pegasus in blast radius ) allowed to shoot down rather poorly protected pegasus with no problems.

Appearing at the beginning of the war, “Tectra” fighters, for a time won control of the air, nearly drove the Equestrian air forces from the sky. The appearance of these machines has forced the Ministry to take radical steps to creating their own fighter.

Not my best model, must admit - but very "atmospheric", on my point of view!

This is pretty cool, very well done. Looks very believable. But looks to modern age, remember in the Fallout universe they have 50's looks to everything.
When life gives you lemons, it is because there is a horrifying monster in the next chamber with 400,000,000 HP, whose only weakness is lemons.

OOOOOooooooo.
Let it be known that these wretched lives shall be taken today under the watchful eyes of those innocents who have died, pleading for their blood to be shed...
... Or maybe we can just dance! Dancing is always fun with cold-blooded murderers! Lots of neat stories!
... Sometimes I wonder why I was given the ability to converse with myself... Or why this body of mine is part machine...

Thanks!

Well, in 1950-th there are F-86, Mig-15bis, "Vixen" and even F-104 and Mig-21. It's a big era of aviation!

"Tectra" is somewhat as a hybrid on base of Mig-15bis!

Equestrian V-21 "Rainboom" fighter

Image

The V-21 "Reynbum" fighterwas developed by emergency order of the Ministry of Awesomnes as an urgent response to zebra's "Tectra"-class fighter After a high-speed zebras machines nearly drove all Equestrian aircraft from the skies, pegasi finally turned their attention to the development of an adequate response.

Тhе atempts to increase pegasus flight performance through the usage of ofbackpack rocket boosters or ramjet engines, or to improve their aerodynamics by creating a special flight suits hard gave no result - unless, of course, not to take as the results 127 test-pilots victims. Aircraft was required, and in close cooperation with other ministries, it was created.

Image

Three colour schemes: standart type, "Wonderbolts" type and "Shadowbolts" heavy-fighters group.

"Rainboom"-class fighter, in the creation of which was actively involved Dashie, was a major conceptual development of main pegasus advantages - maneuvrability and agility. His unusual short fuselage was completely adapted only for Pegasus - pilot was located lying (the most familiar position for pegasus), and control systems were added partially to the wings. Transparent canopy ensured a very good review in the forward hemisphere.

Fighter engines were located close to the center of gravity, which made it, along with special aerodynamics, high maneuverability.

The armament apparatus consisted of a 2 x 30-mm automatic guns in motor gondolas, and 2 x 23-mm autocannons under the cockpit. The effectiveness of the latter guns was considered sufficient to confidently meet "Tecra", while the heavier guns were meant mainly against the zebra's bombers.

Protection of the fighter was pretty weak. In fact, adequate ballistic protection was only on the cockpit. However, given that a direct hit by a 40-millimeter "Tectra" autocannons could simple blew the fighter into fragments, regardless of the reservation, a special need to strengthen the defense was not.

Now, these, these look really cool and weird. I love them. You've done well with these again. :) I also love the little blurb about the aircraft that you do, not sure on the idea of Pegasus aircraft myself but its still kinda cool.

Well, pegasai are subsonic, poorly protected (wings can't be armoured...), so, they must think about some sort of aircraft!

P.S. One good point about pegasus pilots - they really don't need the ejection seat! ;)

Well they have the enclave armour, allowing fight while with some pretty decent armour. And I believe the wings on the suite are armoured as well?
