I was toying with the idea of having a pro-Steel Ranger/Applejack's Rangers radio station in my story. I was going to make the broadcaster a Dashite, still deciding on the name, who's personality is a mix of 3-Dog and Captain Malcolm Reynolds. Hell I'm even going to call the station Serenity Radio. Before I think of anymore details for it, I wanted to get yall's opinions.

Oh and I can't decide if I should expand the combat range scene in Chapter 2. Though what would add I have no idea, aside from a hoof-to-hoof sparring match. I just fill the shooting test for Prism and the shooting contest isn't enought. Any ideas?

"Ah the pitter patter of tiny hooves in huge power armor. SHUT UP!"
"yes Sr. Captin tight saddle"

I like the idea if it is done well... the moto when bashing the Enclave MUST be "You can't take the sky from me."

as for the combat range scene, mayhaps she could give a demonstration of how she, as a pegasus, can bring unique assets to the rangers, ie flight tricks and cloud manipulation (I my self use a type of energy missile called a 'Tempest' made entirely out of storm clouds [an essentially free and infinite resource]. as well as cloud/metal called 'Skysteel' [actually clouds mixed with titanium, but that lacks the ring of skysteel] alloys for reduced weight and allowing pegasi to hone their blades or reshape armor by hoof)

Oh, and one thing I would like to mention. Equestria is the only place where you can stare at someone's backside and actually be admiring their individuality.

That song is one of the reason why I decided to make him a Dashite, and the fact I've been re-watching Firefly today, I'm even going to have him sing some version of the song in one of the chapters.

I could have her attempt to do some cloud manipulation, but due to the nature of the Void this is practically impossible. Also I was going to have her use some special techniques when sparing with Penicillin in hoof-to-hoof combat.

Also in a later chapter I will reveal that she is able to modify any energy weapon, so that they won't vaporize the target.

Hi all,

I’m starting to develop an idea for an FoE side story. It involves a Stable where the experiment was to genetically enhance its residents with gene modifying potions – they don’t make super ponies, but they are stronger, faster etc.

I still haven’t finished reading through FoE. So I’m not even certain if the idea would fit, so any input would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

as long as it isn't done too blatantly, giving each side character a custom quest chain that could resolve successfully multiple ways tends to help with that. (Steelhoves AJ's rangers quest line would be a blatant, but well done [any rule can be broken if it is broken in style] example and Xenith's motherly responsibilities would be a more subtle one.)

The Jack wrote:I don't quite know how the flamethrowers work in the game though, but I do recall being shot at with something that felt like a firebomber. Maybe a weapon that can switch between bombs and cones? That'd be awesome. xD

One that could swap would be sweet, but I would make it a unique quest reward or a mod.
Flamer
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Flamer_%2 ... w_Vegas%29
Incinerator (probably what you encountered)
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Incinerator
A custom flamer that is pure win

The Jack wrote:Ooooh yeah. There will be Sandvich. xD
On that note, I think the "I have yet to meet anyone who can outsmart bullet" as Damhoof suggested would be the best. Still, he doesn't use bullets, so I have to modify it to "fire".
Too bad; I live the way Heavy pronounces "Bullet". xD

"hmm, sandvitch is nice, but..." Uses flamer to make a super sledge white hot. "I prefer PANINI!" Hits sandvitch with white hot sledgehammer to the delight of all.

The Jack wrote:By the way, is red hair for a flamethrower guy too cliché? xD

While I would normally say yes, this is pony. Pinkie's hair looks like (and behaves like) a pink balloon so go for it.

Hm. I think I have a few questlines already planned out, without even knowing it. I will think more into this.

The easiest would be to do is have some mechanism that allows the user to switch between a gas tank and liquid tank. Though you would have to decided is it a Flamer that can fire a stream of liquid fire, or a Incinerator that can shoot out a shotgun like burst of fire. If you wanted to have a flamethrower that acts like both you would need to figure out a way to also change the mixing chamber and nozzle.

Yeah, I'll probably have the guy lug around two tanks, with some sort of system to switch between them. Maybe two nozzles. one on each side of him? Of course, the entire system is going to be fucking huge. Even with his size, I doubt he will move very fast. Which, of course, I will use against him in every opportunitiy.

What is a panini? Funny word though xD

And red hair it is then. Currently, his coat (in my head) is gray, but I'd like a different colour than that. Mostly because everything defaults to a gray coat in my head, even those who I have decided on another colour.

Two giant tanks on his back and two nozzles on his side, remides me of the flame tanks from Command and Conquer 1. If you do the double nozzles, you really wouldn't need to have a way to switch tanks, just a way to fire them seperatly.

Indeed. But I'm wondering if that's an unrealistically huge system. But, using the weights from the weapons in the game, the entire thing will only weigh some 27 (whatever unit is used. Pounds? Kilos?). Of course, most of the weight would come from the fuel, which as I understand is both gas and liquid. Of course, the best way to store gas is as a liquid, so it'll be two tanks with different types of liquid. I'm assuming the gas is for the flamer while the incinerator fires blobs of liquid, which would make the flamer have a capacity of ca. 1000 times as much ammo as the incinerator, since gasses expand ca. 1000 times it's volume as a liquid when heated to a gaseous state.

That could be used. Especially since the Fallout wiki describes the use for the Incinerator as essentially long range artillery, and the flamer as excellent towards lightly or unarmored opponents in close combat.
...
I think this character is the most combat-versatile character in the story, so far.

I would be pretty heavy, but you did say that it would be a pegasus using the weapon. So you could just say that they have some of those reduce weight magic, like what the Enclave power armor has.

Also remember that when it comes to the tanks, the liquid one will weigh more and will sloush around. So you will either have to deal with one side being extra heavy, if the tanks are parallel to the body, or the sloshing of the liquid throwing him off balance, if the tank is perpendicular to his body.

Ah! Of course, one of those talismans would be exactly what he needed. Not enough to make him a very agile flyer (I'm thinking minus 1 or 2 on his agility stat), but enought to make it bearable.

Also, both tanks contains liquid. And I was thinking of the system more as the tanks both resting on his back, with a nozzle hanging on each side of him. Of course, nothing could ride ontop of him like that, and he probably can't bear that large saddlebags due to it's size.

There's a limit to the logic you can apply to a setting with a giant communist stomping robot.
